NEWLY EMERGING ARTIST ON THE RISE IN JACKSONVILLE FLORIDA

Be on the lookout for this emerging sensation. David James Martin professionally known as Dave Duval is a multi- talented music professional. His interest in music started in his youth at the young age of thirteen when he heard “Snoop Lion” formerly known as Snoop Dogg's acclaimed hit Murder Was The Case as it was playing loudly on his older brother’s boom box and was immediately inspired. After struggling through a violent separation between his parents that split him and his siblings apart Dave turned to music as an outlet for therapy and began to write his first rap. He understood early on that in order to become good at his craft that he would have to test and sharpen his skill in the field by pitting himself against other like-minded individuals with that same desire to aspire to become a street credible rapper. He began to sharpen his abilities by freestyle battle rapping any competitors he could find. He took it to the streets where he lived in Jacksonville Florida on the Eastside with his mother and siblings in a poor government assisted housing project on Phoenix Avenue and 21 st street which he represents still to this day. He has been seen often in photos making a hand gesture of a two and a one. This hand signal is used by individuals from that said set or location. Dave continued for over a decade to hone in on his artistic capability while continuing to build up his credentials. It wasn't long before he was approached by a representative of a major record label with a recording contract which he declined for legal reasons. 

He laid dormant as an artist for years while fulfilling his enlistment in the United States Navy. After his separation from the military he would go on to meet close friend and fellow artist Justin Pollock known professionally as Daddy Peezy who would be the inspiration of Dave pursuing music professionally. In 2019 Dave founded his privately owned and operated label named Duval Records which would later be changed to Dave Duval Productions and released his first single called “Nobody Does It Better” under this name In March of 2019 via ©️Distrokid. This release would later on land him in the Top Ten of the charts with Reverb Nation for rap artists in Jacksonville Florida and quickly gain exposure to the local community. In the following months he would go on to produce and release his second single titled “HUSTLA” under his label also through ©️Distrokid which was released on July twenty fifth 2019. This new single would land him in the top five of Reverb Nations charts for the top rap artists in Jacksonville Florida where he is currently occupying the number four spot with his eyes on the prize to rise and claim number one. Dave released his third single in August of 2019 independently through his label via ©️Distrokid titled “GET THE FUSE LIT” featuring arising Sound Cloud sensation “F.L.i.P.” The two of them are currently working on a project titled “SPRAYIN" and numerous other collaborations. 

The pair also has real freestyle videos released through Dave’s personal YouTube channel. He is also currently working on a new single that will be titled “On The Outside" featuring sensational vocalist “SmurFay” while collaborating with various other artists with more projects and possibly an EP yet to come. On top of being a lyrical connoisseur he is also a published writer. He engineers all of his own original music including mixing and mastering on all levels of production. He is a mentor to many upcoming and struggling artists in his community and works diligently on providing them with the proper tools for success. Dave Duval is more than your typical amateur artist. He is currently working with SmurFay Dezignz on branding his label and self.
