Sylvan Lacue couldn't slow down if he tried.

 They say if you want something done, give it to a busy person. Somebody must have told Saylvan Lacue to make a mixtape because he's made one and it's his third full length project this year. First there was the album Apologies In Advance in January ("a concept album surrounded around the idea of an AA meeting but for emotions"), then the 12-track visual album Florida Man in July and now, less than two months later, he's released Searching Sylvan, another introspective, lyrical, conceptual album. 

This type of output is reminiscent of Lil Wayne in his prime, but unlike Weezy all these albums have considered narratives. The interludes in Searching Sylvan are directly reminiscent of those Kendrick's Good Kid Maad City; we hear Sylvan's mom telling him to clean the house and to take the pork chops out of the freezer, similar to Kendrick's mom trying to get him to return her minivan and his dad yelling about dominoes. The sound in general is very similar to GKMC, and that's a big compliment.
