Traiven “Trai” is one of the most positive, yet realistic people you’ll ever meet

Traiven Lee (aka Trai) is an 18 year old producer, engineer, recording artist, and music enthusiast from Medford, Oregon. He has released a total of 7 albums over a 4 year span of creating music. These albums consist of mostly hip-hop, but also incorporate a lot of inspiration from alternative, r&b, pop, and punk genres. His latest project "Snapshot" tells a story of falling in love and explores the inner workings of what makes him tick as an everyday person. He offers insight on many different aspects of life, touching often on religion, love, stress, time, and humility. What differentiates Trai from many modern artists is his ability to speak on the problems and concerns an everyday person may be experiencing. Trai may be one of the most down to earth rap/hip-hop artists of the generation.
Trai was introduced to music in the 4th grade, when he found his father's iPod Classic laying around the house. After a quick scroll through the albums, he found "The Slim Shady LP" and immediately was enthralled by Eminem. His love for music only grew from there, discovering hip-hop artists such as Lupe Fiasco, Kanye West, J. Cole, and G-Eazy. In the sixth grade, he joined band and remained in band all the way through high school. Traiven learned all he knows about music and music theory through being in band and playing the trombone. In his freshman year he decided to experiment with creating his own music, starting out with nothing but a computer, extremely low quality speakers, a pirated DAW, and a rockband microphone. Over the years, the studio advanced to a Focusrite Scarlet 6i6 audio interface, Audio-Technica AT-2020 microphone, Yamaha HS8 studio monitors, Audio-Technica ath-m20x headphones, Pro Tools, and an Akai MPK Mini midi keyboard. Now, 4 years after starting his music career he is still improving and striving to evolve his sound in the ever changing landscape of hip-hop.

Traiven grew up in a small town in southern Oregon and has lived there all his life. At a young age he realized that no matter how "normal" of a life you may live, there's always problems to be had. Having a severe peanut allergy, the risk of death is a constant everyday fear. Every food consumed must be closely inspected and questioned as to avoid loss of breath, consciousness, or even life. Growing up knowing any little mistake could lead to death, he was forced to face his fear of dying and came to accept it as a part of life. Traiven "Trai" is one of the most positive, yet realistic people you'll ever meet. He believes that just about every problem someone may have with someone else stems from a lack of communication. Making music has allowed him to further understand himself and therefor communicate as clearly as possible with those he's surrounded by.
Trai's accomplishments include the placement on a local radio station, the completion of 7 (mostly) self produced albums, and the live performance of a song at his high school. He is currently pursuing a career in music education as well as scheduling dates for performances at local venues in his home town.
