The original sound of Southern California based indie band ALINEA embarks on audience

ALINEA (ALINEA the Band) is an American Alternative / Indie rock band based in Southern California.   Their original sound has elements of alt, indie, surf and classic rock. ALINEA was formed in 2016 by John Barry (Lead Vocals, Rhythm Guitar), Lance Meliota (Drums, Vocals), Ben Tyrrell (Lead Guitar, Vocals) and Nick Thompsen (Bass). Barry, Meliota and Thompsen were classmates at Palos Verdes High School and began playing music together in between their busy high school athletic schedule.  Tyrrell was added to the band the summer of 2016 to play bass when Nick went on a two month summer vacation.  When Nick returned, Ben moved guitar and remained in the band.

Their first paid gig was to a packed audience at the Saint Rocke Nightclub in Hermosa Beach CA on February 18, 2017. Since they were still in high school they were escorted off the stage after their performance and out of the building as they were not of legal age for a nightclub in California. That night they played virtually all original songs with a couple of covers by the Talking Heads and The Cure.
From that point, the band became very easy to book at nightclubs throughout Los Angeles. In the summer of 2017 Nick Thompsen left the band. Shannon Ennis (Bass, Vocals), a classmate of Tyrrell's at Torrance High School replaced Thompsen on bass. The four toured Southern California that Summer and competed and won their first Battle of the Bands competition in Manhattan Beach, CA.   Barry had an college athletic scholarship that he gave up, after the four made a pact to go to college in the Los Angeles area so the band could stay together.   Ennis is an Engineering  Major at Cal Poly Pomona, Tyrrell is a Music Major at El Camino College, Meliota is a Business Major at El Camino College and Barry is an Engineering Major at Loyola Marymount University.

The Summer of 2018 ALINEA won the City of Torrance Battle of the Bands competition with the winner given the prize of performing to a TV Audience of 72 million and a Live Audience of 1 million lining the streets of Pasadena in the 2019 Rose Parade.  The Rose Committee requested ALINEA perform Staying Alive by The Bee Gees, but after hearing the demo recording of their song "She Doesn't Get It" the committee shifted gears and requested they perform their original music on the float.  "She Doesn't Get It" officially was released New Years Day, January 1st, 2019 in the parade.

In February of 2019, ALINEA won the Redondo Beach Battle of the Bands with the winner claiming a spot to perform as the opening band for the inaugural Beachlife Festival in Redondo Beach, CA.   Headliners for the 3 day event were, Bob Weir (Grateful Dead), Brian Wilson (Beach Boys), Willie Nelson, Jason Mraz, Ziggy Marley, As The Crow Flys (Black Crowes), Everclear, Sugar Ray, Colin Hay (Men at Work).   ALINEA kicked off the inaugural event that had a daily attendance of over 10,000.
