Colorado Acoustic Rock Duo Harmony and Brad explode onto the scene with a fresh new sound dubbed “Optimist Rock”

The upbeat Colorado Acoustic Rock Duo Harmony and Brad have released their sophomore CD Green opening the doors to a very busy 2020. In December of 2018 the Optimist Rock Acoustic duo broke ground on their new Green EP. The tracks were recorded at Coupe Studios in Boulder Colorado, engineered by Taylor Marvin, mixed by Justin Peacock, mastered by David Glasser of Airshow Mastering, and featuring special guest Adam Abrashoff of the JD Simo Band on drums. With 5 new original tunes and a remake of the Ramones classic “I Wanna Be Sedated”, the duo independently released Green in March of 2019.

The strategy couldnʼt be working any better. In summer of 2019 the duo released their freshman EP Purple which received widespread attention around the world. Engineered by Chris Wright at Violet Sound Studios in Boulder, the freshman EP took almost 9 months to make and ended up being a fantastic learning experience for the musicians. In 2019 the duo released a full length animated music video done by Ginger Guise for “The Will”, also from the Purple CD. Harmony and Brad were founded in Boulder Colorado in 2014 and features Fort Atkinson Wisconsin native Harmony Jones on violin and lead vocals and Montague Michigan native Brad Jones on guitar. Harmony Jones (formerly Greenhalgh) and Brad Jones weʼre founding members of the Denver Colorado pop punk group Left Foot Green where they performed together for over 5 years prior to going solo.

With 3 punk rock CDs behind them and dozens of tours, the acoustic rock troubadours branched off from the full band and started writing. Keeping with their mission to stay optimistic and draw sounds from their influences in Gypsy Jazz, Brazilian Choro, Irish, Ska, and several other styles, the acoustic songsters were able to weave an intricate sonic purée of all styles. All while keeping a simple acoustic rock sensibility. In the early days the duo often would busk on the Pearl Street Mall in Boulder to earn extra money as well as to test their musical compositions in front of crowds. During this time that Harmony and Brad refined their inner performers. With their love for amalgamating artistic platforms, another animated music video is in the plan for release in early 2020. Despite their busy playing schedule Harmony and Brad have already started writing new material for a full length CD they hope to break ground on in early 2021. With the release of 2 EPs behind them and multiple US and European tours already successfully accomplished, the sky is the limit. One thing we know for sure is this duo will be doing it with a smile on their faces, enjoying every second of it.
