A new EP recorded in a unique solar-powered mobile studio is California Road 101 by Joachim Garraud and Gaël Benyamin
One of the most influential producers and composers in the world, Joachim Garraud has pioneered electronic music for more than 25 years, equally adept at audio production, concept creation, and inventive audiovisuals.
Gaël Benyamin, an acclaimed producer, singer-songwriter with 14 albums in 16 years, combines pop, jazz, rock, funk and rich melodies with the spirit of Californian west coast music in his multiple projects such as Geyster.
The two collaborated to make California Road 101, a project recorded in Joachim's solar-powered mobile studio (LAGoodVibe) in the California desert.
Gael sings in French on three songs on this 4-track-EP called "Pas la même Californie", which also includes an electro instrumental by Joachim. Photos and video clips immortalize their solar and musical journey, produced by Olivier Boscovitch (David Guetta, Bob Sinclar, Geyster ...)
The 1st single, “LE FLOW DE MICHEL'', pays homage to the great American spaces described by the famous French singer Michel Jonasz. It’s an ode to travel, highlighted by a jazzy, soulful sound, specific to the titles of Michel Jonasz.
“JE PARS EN SOLO”, a tribute to travel, is a reference to Californian acoustic music, inspired in particular by “Year of the Cat” by Al Stewart or by “A Horse with no name” by the group America. Official music video “Je pars en solo”

“PAS LA MÊME CALIFORNIE” closes the EP and represents the end of the journey, between sadness and melancholy. It offers two very different visions of California through the eyes of a separating couple, between tradition and modernity.
