AD emerges as one of Compton's best and brightest.

Fans of West Coast hip-hop will no doubt recognize AD. The Compton emcee has been hustling for a minute, earning the respect from his peers, including a notable co-sign from Kendrick Lamar (as seen on introductory cut "Chapter 2). Today, AD has dropped off his brand new album Blue 89 C2, which features guest appearances from Busta Rhymes, Wiz Khalifa, RJ & Maxo Kream. And while the features are nice, AD is more than capable of carrying the project, which features a notable blend of raw street lyricism and classic West Coast vibes. Fans of Snoop, Daz, Kurupt, Bad Azz, WC, and Xzibit will find much to love about what AD is selling.

Despite a general adherence to the West Coast sound, AD proves his versatility on the Busta Rhymes collaboration "Hear My Cry," which finds him trading furious bars with hip-hop royalty. On that note, AD shows ample love to his predecessors, citing Suga Free as one of his biggest inspirations on the g-funk vibes of "OMG." Honestly, do yourself a favor and check out Blue 89 C2, especially if you're looking for the West Coast's next up.
