Gizelle De Guzman knows how to captures the emotions felt in hits the right notes

A true diamond in the rough, Gizelle de Guzman hails from the tiny Albertan town of Cremona. Fed on a steady diet of country music and beef jerky, Gizelle fell in love with Miranda Lambert’s storytelling, Carried Underwood’s glamour and poise, and The Dixie Chicks humour and candour. Although she still likes beef jerky and hometown ho’ downs, Gizelle has been carving out her own style of Country on the East Coast in recent years by collaborating with local artists and touring from Nova Scotia to Ontario. 

Gizelle has been honing her skills as a heartfelt songwriter and engaging live performer and is known for using authentic lyrics while presenting her dynamic vocals in her music. Seeing her live, she will captivate you from a range of slow acoustics to catchy, singalong barn tunes. Through her songs, Gizelle has always been adept at storytelling and focuses on the power of her lyrics to reflect the many obstacles of that she had faced during her upbringing. Her vocal quality and dedication to her craft has allowed her to showcase her self-awareness and attract a fan-base in her. 
Having performed in a variety of venues from small stages to large festivals; entertaining huge crowds such as the Ponoka Stampede and Big Valley Jamboree Talent Stage. A seasoned entertainer, no matter where the show is Gizelle utilizes charisma and talent to demonstrate her unique stage presence. Gizelle has also been a major contribution to her local community through performances for fundraisers and private events that support causes like mental health and cancer awareness. One of her notable appearances include her performance of one of her own compositions “Good Girl” at Country 105.1 (Calgary) during the 2016 Annual Caring for Kids Radiothon in support of the Alberta Children’s Hospital Foundation. She has also been invited to sing the national anthem at various events such as the Sundre Junior Rodeo 2016 series, Calgary Police Rodeo 2016 and 2017, and Enactus Canada National Exposition 2017 in Vancouver. 

In August 2018, Gizelle de Guzman had released her Acoustic EP “Good Girl” to commemorate her mental health journey that sparked a new beginning 5 years ago. She also released another single titled, “We Don’t Love Like That Anymore” on March 2019. June 2019, she released her latest single, “Raise a Glass” which is available both in English and French versions. They both tell the story of a girl getting her life back on track after a break-up. The songs have a musical mix of Country and Pop. The beat is slow with parts that have a slightly faster tempo. The musical style of this tune parallels to that of Shania Twain and Faith Hill.
