Jmt-Prod sound design is very oriental it supports a strong text of sense

Born in Marseille (France) in 1969. Jean Marc Tola was influenced by groups as “IAM”, “Massilia Sound System”, “Assassin”, “NTM”, “Wu Tang Clan”, ”KRS One”, “Public Enemy” and so many others a lot. He discovered the computing in 1981 and began the Computer Aided Music (CAM) in 1987 with his first Amiga and a basic sound card. By means of Sampling, Time Streching, and Pitching thousands of sounds and after years of compositions, he forms his first group (La cinquième colonne) in Vienne in Isère. In 1996 They take out their first album "Colonne V" followed one year later of a new album: "Des mots...". After several years of scenes, repetitions of Studio, the members of the group decide by mutual agreement to leave towards other projects.

That push him to make new meetings and to have several collaborations with Groups of the area (Karukera-Kylla, Ethos, New Jack Swing,…). Then he becomes a manager and a booker of several advanced groups (Hot Line, Fred Alpi, Les Gueules de bois) and in progress (Showmanship, Kaliyuga, Le Petit Orchestre, ...) In 2003 he takes part of the team which creates in (Vienne Antic Theater) a Festival "Les Authentiks" that knows an direct success and still exists. Then he participates in adventures in several Musical Universes (Hip-hop, Jazz, Funk, Reggae, Electro music, …) He come back after 15 years full of new compositions enriched by his previous experiences .
He composes and arranges himself all the melodies and the rhythmic by bringing his identity appropriate to all his productions. “I prefer composing from an acapella because I can stick and do the custom compared to what says the rapper and his flow. I spend hours searching for the sound, the instrument that will give the soul music. When I have an idea of melodic line trying to lead at the end and often the result brings me to a production well defined with a specific story. “ His first Opus "H.H.J. JAPAN", this Japanese-inspired sound released in November 2016 and distributed by SPINNUP, allows him to reconnect with the world of hip-hop. We find the sounds that made it known at the end of the 90s. Then it comes out shortly after the "SLAVERY" sound that some take for the movie soundtrack, all that this is due to a very particular sound. Designed with a charley replaced by chains, hence the title of "SLAVERY", an instrumental version that contains committed speeches that are close to his heart because he is very socially involved in his everyday life.

He was approached by several rappers from various countries and that's how he met Mawkley, a Moroccan rapper with whom he released the track "Al Halaban" that could be translated as "No Life Kid". It’s a song about a small kid who used to live in the street and faced a lot of problems like abuse and he did drugs. It's unfortunate but it's a sad reality ! The sound design is very oriental it supports a strong text of sense we feel the power of the text through the music that supports and reinforces this terrible very sad story with samples. Even if one does not understand the word of the fact what are Arabic music explains! A return which announces strong productions. Borrow history, various universe, beautiful meeting, feeling and desires. Discover and follow... He pays a lot of attention to the instruments he uses and creates a universe close to very symphonic film music. He'll be very interested in composing a soundtrack for a movie "it would be an accomplishment for me," he says.

The new sound creations of Jmt-Prod received a favourable reception from the international specialized press and radio "Very reminiscent of Wu-Tang with a dash of Dr. Dre from the 90's" (US, Canada, Africa, Latin America, Japan, ...), they appeared on several compilations (Coast2Coast, Young Money Unsign Hype, 50djs50states, The Grind Nation, ...) and have received honorary distinctions (Akademia Award, 1st place of a top European Independent radio for more than two months, ...). Since Jmt-Prod is ranked in the top 100 Global Hip-hop on Reverbnation and number 1 in France , it is broadcast in more than 72 countries and continues to grow its followers of which you will certainly be part after listening to it. From 2017 he plans to take out a production by month and stay constantly in search of new artists.
The year 2018 was devoted to the composition and the search for new sounds to rapprochements with artists "Doing everything on its own takes and asks for the temp" because he manages his career alone like many independent artists. At the moment, new collaborations are underway with various artists, which are expected to take place by the end of 2019 and the beginning of 2020.
